Ready in red: Christmas minis 2024

Hi, this is my 1st blog post! This is a place where I can reflect on my past shoots and also hopefully give any insight for clients or other photographers who may be reading this. Even though it’s February as I’m typing this, I thought Christmas minis would be a great start!

The Christmas just gone was my 1st time doing Christmas minis as I didn’t feel confident in it last year (my 1st year of freelancing…there’s a lot of 1st going on in this post!!). I’ve seen a lot of Christmas minis online but I didn’t realise how much needed to go into it. This isn’t just from me either - this is also for everyone coming to get their photos taken! Not sure what I mean? Well, from the photos you see at the bottom you can see 1 thing in common - everyone is wearing red. This was something I encouraged to everyone visiting the studio prior to their photoshoots. But why? Let’s break it down!

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
